LeLutka Summer ’09 is here!

The much awaited LeLutka summer ’09 collection is here and we have some amazing items for this release. This release has been different in many aspects, but we hope you enjoy all that we have created!

We asked a couple of our favorite fashionistas to review and give us their opinion on our summer collection, here’s what one of them had to say.

LeLutka Summer – a personal fashion statement

The release of the LeLutka Summer Collection 09 is Minnu Palen’s most personal fashion statement to date.

It’s an exquisite collection, showcasing a range of summer fashions from evening and day dresses to cropped pants, shorts and a range of sheer and ruffled separates, all in the soft warm colors of summer. As with previous collections, the range of colors comprise a core of neutrals, from slate grey to antique whites punctuated by subtle sophisticated tones.

The surprises of the collection are the jumpsuits “We just had to make bodysuits for this collection” explained thora and Minnu, “they represent us. They might not be most popular but they truly represent me and give this whole collection my signature.”

Thora’s personal accents also show in the shoe collection, especially the “Dita” range. Named after Dita Von Teese, the American burlesque artist, model and actress, Thora explained “I think the name speaks for itself. It’s my homage to her. I’ve always wanted to make something with that naughty taste and this is a little twist for this summer line.”

Lelutka’s personal reflections also continue in the new release hats, from the 1950’s influenced day hats to oversize statement piece straw hats. “We love head covers of any kind, caps, hats, visors, anything” said Thora “in my opinion, it is a perfect way to complete a look and to spin it in a way to make an old or a very popular outfit your own and different.”

But this new summer collection is more than just inspired couture looks. It’s quirky with funky variations of geometric and colorful prints, sheer textures and fun looks from the knotted tank tops to sexy short hot pants. “It was a fun thing to do” explained Lelutka’s, “We just pictured ourself washing a car on a hot summer day and thought about what would be cool to wear”

The versatility of this summer collection extends to the range of dresses, all with a theme in mind. As Thora explained “Tallys” represents harvest time, “Paras” clubbing, “Olethea” the motion of the sea.” But underlying the collection is still a personal statement inspired by Lelutka “The “Ontibile” gown was first created in black” said Thora “it is something I would wear to a formal occasion, but the sheer bodice gives it my twist as a fun piece”

Now that Second Life has recently celebrated its 6th Birthday, the LeLutka Summer Collection 09 is a definitive statement of the maturity, creativity and collective talents of the LeLutka team in bringing this edgy fashion forward collection to virtual life.
